We are sorry to have to report that picnic tickets are no longer available and are not available day of event. All access to the grounds is by ticket only and each ticket has a unique barcode that may be used once for one guest.

ADVANCED TICKETS REQUIRED

Each ticketholder must print out and bring their own unique, barcoded ticket. COPIES OF OTHER PEOPLE'S TICKETS ARE NOT ACCEPTED. All attending the picnic must present their ticket for shuttle and grounds access. No other access will be permitted to the property.

About your TICKET ORDER CONFIRMATION EMAIL AND & DONATION RECEIPTS

A valid ticket for shuttle and grounds access will read "STEPPING STONES 2014 PICNIC TICKET." Receipts for donations will also be sent as attachments and will look similar to tickets, but will specifically say "DONATION" and "NOT A TICKET" and these are not valid for picnic entry.

NO ON-SITE TICKET AVAILABILITY / NO WALK-IN TICKETING

Tickets will not be available on site. Please sign up for the waiting list to be informed about tickets if they are released. A ticket is required to enter Stepping Stones grounds.

CANCELLATIONS - PLEASE NOTIFY US:

If you do not plan to use all or some of your tickets, please email us right away at info@steppingstones.org so that we can give your tickets to someone on the waitlist.

SHUTTLES & PARKING

Parking for ticketholders is at the commuter parking lots at the Bedford Hills Train Station off 1 Railroad Avenue, Bedford Hills, NY, 10507 from noon until 5 p.m. Please use the commuter lots; out of respect for the downtown merchants, please do not park on the side of the tracks used for downtown shoppers and postal customers. Shuttles provided by Stepping Stones are the only vehicles permitted to the Stepping Stones property. The Stepping Stones shuttles will run when full or close to full to bring ticketed guests and volunteers to and from the Stepping Stones property.

Carpooling to the Bedford Hills Transit Station, Railroad Ave. parking lots is highly encouraged.

Special Needs Parking Requests:

A limited number of special needs parking spaces are available on the Stepping Stones property for people with tickets and must be reserved in advance placing a request by phone tol 914-232-4822 or by email to info@steppingstones.org by June 6 at noon. Special advance permisson and a pass will be granted for use of a limited number of spaces at 66 Oak Rd., Katonah NY 10536 for special needs purposes. If you have a special need and can ride the shuttle please contact us for some special information at info@steppingstones.org.

Picnic Guidelines:

Stepping Stones needs your cooperation with police and volunteers by adhering to the following:

  • Parking is not available for any vehicles at Stepping Stones or on neighborhood streets. Designated commuter lots at Railroad Avenue, Bedford Hills and shuttles must be used and tickets are required for access.
  • Vehicles will not be given access to drop off and pick up people or supplies at Stepping Stones or by our neighbors' properties. Picnic goers and supplies must be brought via shuttle.
  • In the interest of maintaining a mutually enjoyable atmosphere for fellowship and neighbors, radios and other devices that amplify sound are not permitted.
  • Please do not gather or linger on the perimeter of the Stepping Stones property or near any neighboring properties, streets or driveways.Volunteers will direct you uphill to access picnic check-in and to receive your name tag. We encourage you to pack light.
  • Skateboards, razor scooters, roller skates, roller blades, big wheels, tricycles, bicycles, kites, frisbees, etc. are not permitted at the picnic.
  • Photography is not permitted inside the Wilson's Home or Bill's Studio unless otherwise specified by a gallery host or docent volunteer.
  • In the interest of anonymity, if taking photos outdoors, please ask other guest's permission before including them in your photographs. Please refrain from photography and recording during the meeting.
  • Photography is not permitted by the entrances and entrance sign to Stepping Stones.
  • Shuttles will run when at or near shuttle capacity, so please plan your time accordingly.
  • Animals/pets are not permitted unless they are service animals.
  • Restrooms for people with special needs are located in the Welcome Center. All others please use the portable toilets provided.
  • Sunscreen, tick/bug spray, hats/visors encouraged.
  • Smoking is not permitted near any structures. A designated area for smokers will be at the back of the picnic area. Receptacles will be provided for for butts.

Schedule: Picnic and shuttle runs begin at 12 noon and end at 5 p.m.

Program of speakers - 2 p.m. (ending around 4 p.m.) - Open meeting with A.A., Al-Anon and Alateen speakers.

Lunch - Pack In, Pack Out: Please plan to "pack-in and pack-out" your lunch and all refuse and recyclables. We will supply soft drinks and water. Please bring your own lunch (no grills, barbeques, cooking, sternos or open flames are permitted).

Donations and Admission: Stepping Stones welcomes donations to support the picnic (suggested donation of $10 or more per person), general operations and maintenance, and historic preservation projects such as our Archives Preservation Project. Donations made with ticket orders will be acknowledge by an attachment that reads "DONATION" and "NOT A TICKET."

The Stepping Stones Foundation (Stepping Stones - Historic Home of Bill & Lois Wilson) in Katonah, New York, is a standalone, nonprofit, tax-exempt organization (Federal I.D. # 13-3031164) that fosters public understanding of alcoholism and inspires recovery by preserving and sharing the historic home, archive, and legacy of Alcoholics Anonymous Cofounder Bill Wilson and Al-Anon Family Groups Cofounder Lois Wilson. Bill W. was listed in Time and Life magazines as one of the 100 influentials of the last century for his writing of the 12-Step recovery program and cofounding of A.A.  Due to Lois' work as cofounder of Al-Anon Family Groups and cofounder of The Stepping Stones Foundation, the historic site is on the NY Women's Heritage Trail.
